New Rider Course Information
H-D Rider's Edge®, New Riders Course a license waiver is authorized by Georgia for motorcycle licensing.
Course Details
The New Rider Course follows the proven curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) Basic RiderCourse tailored for beginning riders or those returning to the sport.
During the classroom interactive sessions, expectations will be set, you'll learn about the different types of motorcycles, their controls & operation, motorclothes for comfort & protection, how to create a strategy for riding in traffic & dealing with critical situations, and the basic skills to prepare you for the riding on the range. You'll find out how alcohol and other drugs affect your ability to ride safely. You will also get a chance to trial fit different motorcycles & motorclothes, with a look into the Harley-Davidson lifestyle through the dealership.
During the range we'll start you off with familiarization of the controls, clutch & throttle control, straight line riding, turning, shifting and stopping. Then, you will progress to more interactive and advanced street skills, slow speed tight maneuvers, braking, turning, and swerving techniques.
The course concludes with a Skill Evaluation and Knowledge Test

The Schedule
Classe scheduled almost every week during the training season February to December at two locations.
5-days, Thursday through Monday @ Earl Small's H-D, Marietta.
3-Day three, (3 full days) @ H-D of Cartersville.
4-days, Thursday through Sunday @ both dealerships.
Attendance at each session is MANDATORY
The Benefits
You will receive approximately 25 hours in the classroom & on the range with expertly trained instructors that are committed to the sport of motorcycling.
Registered students are extended a one time courtesy discount of 10% on all regular priced MotorClothes® merchandise and safety gear.

All of our instructors are certified MSF RiderCoaches and Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program Instructors that have received additional training from the Rider's Edge® Harley-Davidson Academy of Motorcycling.
Tuition
The tuition for the entire course and all it's benefits is $325.00.
The tuition is required to maintain your seat in the class DO NOT WAIT - classes fill up fast and there may be a waiting list.

Skilled Rider Course
Even if have been riding for some time or never taken a riding course, there is always something new to learn. Let us help you hone your skills and fine-tune the mental skills needed for survival in traffic.
The Skilled Rider Course is designed for participants who have been riding & own their own motorcycle to enhance the following skills; control at low speeds, risk management, limited space maneuvers, cornering judgement, straight line stopping quickly and in a curve, swerving and stopping, and multiple curve maneuvers. As well, you'll discuss with your peers how to manage risk, increase visibilty, optimize lane position, protective gear, motorcycle inspection & care, rider responsibility and the effects of alcohol and other drugs on riding. The course concludes with a Skills Evaluation and a Knowledge Test.

The course scheduled is 1 day (8:00am - 6:00pm/Range/Skill Evaluation/Knowledge Test).
Attendance at each session is mandatory - if you miss any session for any reason, you'll have to reschedule so you can take the course from start to finish.
